Is this blue or blue MOTTLED?

For just a few weeks old the patterning looks good and the foot feathering is great, it is a nice chick, just not what you wanted. Get your Frizzle eggs and you could be on the way to some nice Mottled Frizzles. (0: Honestly its harder to come by what you accidently got then to find Frizzles, I know it is a shock but its sorta cool, too. If you were in PA I would trade you MANY Frizzles for your chick.

My DD snuck Cochin eggs in the bator from her fav chickens and hatched from a Blue Mottled hen and solid Blue roo. She hatched 3 Black Mottles, 2 Blue Mottles, and one Splash Mottled.
It was a total surprise that the Roo is recessive for Mottled.
From her fav Splash Roo and Blue Frizzle hen 3 blue frizzles(all frizzled)

So I guess thats just all part of the fun.
You just need more eggs!!

Man, I'd really love some chicks like that. i'd be thankful... really really thankful they hatched and I got healthy. Like other posters have said, you play the genetic odds game when you hatch out your own eggs. I'd be glad the breeder sent you healthy eggs... and honestly, if you want to try again, I'd use the same breeder due to the nice quality of the chicks you got the first time around. If you play the odds long enough, you'll get what you want!

I am ecstatically happy with these chicks.

I've ALWAYS hatched out super good quality chicks from this seller's eggs. I did contact the seller this morning, and he said that he did get a new roo last fall, so maybe he has mottled in his background

. It doesn't matter...I love these chicks anyways.

. But it definitely wasn't what I initially wanted/needed. So should I try more of these bantam blue frizzled cochin eggs again?
