I have a year old Brahma hen that is high stepping and acting off. I have been watching her for a little while because she’s been off* but the high stepping started yesterday. It is only in one foot. I also noticed missing feathers on her chest so I presume she is molting. My fear is to wait and the issue be worse than just new feather growth and/or molting. Does this look like bubblefoot to anyone. If yes, what would you do?

*going in early to roost at night, secluding herself from the flock. She is eating and drinking. Has been dewormed.

Welcome to BYC. I don’t see a bumble on the foot pad, but it looks like she is missing feathers on her feet, and there might be some scaly leg mites. They can be miserable during a molt, and don’t like to be handled much. But it might help if you placed her in a tub of warm soapy water for 15 minute soak. A old toothbrush can be used gently to brush off any dirt. Then apply vaseline or other oil to the scales to smother the leg mites. Nustock Cream (found online and in the horse products) is also a good one, and is a sulfur and oil product that kills mites. Reapply the cream twice a week.
