I just found out this thick scabs on both of her feet, one on each. She wasn't limping or showed any signs of discomfort. She was asking for me to pick her up and she had wet poop smothered on her one of her foot so started cleaning her foot and found out about it. I haven't checked the rest of the flock yet. I took the scab off her foot and put on prid on it and loose bandage over it. Is this bumble foot? Did I do the right treatment?

That sure is one good treatment for bumblefoot! It sounds and looks like it is, and that you caught it early.

If there something around that would cause it though? It usually is from them jumping down on rough terrain and/or walking around on rough terrain. Like some people mistakenly put gravel in their run, which had sharp edges on some of it. They soon find their chickens with bumblefoot.

I've been thinking about the same thing and it's most likely their new bedding in their run. That's only thing changed. I recently did a deep cleaning and laid new wood chips and dirt over it and dried leaves and grass on top. I like wood chips in winter because it keeps the ground warm as it breaks down. I don't think i laid enough dirt and dried leaves. They've been digging up the wood chips. I checked the rest of my birds and two of them got affected. I'll have to spread more dirt over it so they can't get to the chips and more leaves so they walk on dry surfaces. I feel so bad. I'm glad I found it early though.

Don't kick yourself as this is how we all learn, by making a few mistakes on the way. You caught it early so kudos to you for that! If the PRID doesn't take care of it, there are several good bumblefoot articles here with other ideas. Hopefully, that does the trick though!

Thank you! I'll read through those articles.
