Hi,
I think my peking duck has bumble foot...but I am not sure. I am hoping someone can help me confirm that's what it is. If not, what could it be? I have pasted a couple of pictures of her feet.
We have 2 muscovy ducks, male and female and one peking duck. I noticed about a week ago that our peking duck is limping a little. I was thinking that it was because she got hurt a bit after running away from our dog. Our dog is kinda big and we know that he does not mean to hurt ducks...he is just trying to play. (Indeed, our male muscovy duck plays with him and they seem to be the best buddies in our backyard) We are in process of building a place for ducks so that the dog would not chase them. Anyway, since she continued to limp, I decided to take a closer look and found out that she got something on her feet. Also, she is not eating much and started to have a few dots on her beak. The reason I am kind of confused as to whether she has bumble foot is that the stuff shown on the pictures is very tough and solid. There seems to be no fluffiness in it. Doesn't bumble foot cause the foot to swollen? Can it be just solid tissue?
I have soaked her legs in warm water with Epsom salt and put antibiotic ointment on it. It does not seem to be helping.
If you know anything, please provide any information or thoughts...they are our first ducks and we really need information.
Thanks a lot,
Kelly
