Hello everyone. We have a mixed flock of hens that are Easter Eggers brahma, window and red ranger. 7 in all and they are about 7 months old. We have one that started walking very odd and was lethargic. We isolated her thinking it may be Mareks, but she seems to be improving. We were checking her today and we're wondering if she may have bumblefoot. Here are a couple pictures. We also noticed she had lice. We were planning on using some diatomaceous earth and poultry powder, but are open to any suggestions. We will inspect the other hens for lice too. Does this look like bumblefoot?

We had to use a powder with permethrin in it to get rid of the lice our silkies had. From what I can see it looks like bumblefoot but I can't tell for sure in the picture. I've only just started keeping chickens back in March though. Does it feel like the pad is a bit harder than normal? Is there a scab and does she act as though it is painful? I bet she'd enjoy an epsom salt soak either way. Keep us updated.

Give her foot a good wash up, then take more photos - too hard to tell about the bumblefoot.

For lice, dust her with a permethrin based poultry dust or spray. DE is not going to treat an infestation. It's an irritant to the respiratory system (for both you and her) so if you do decide to use that too, then wear a mask.

Thank you to everyone. We thought our girl was a gunner, but she is pulling through. We replaced the bedding, and did a DE and poultry dust treatment of the coop foe the lice. Will do another round shortly to make sure we get them, but our girl is walking normal and seems much better. So thankful for everyone's input here.
