Hi guys, my ducky seemed to be very affectionate today, she let me pet her for longer than usual which was awesome but also a little concerning....I checked her out throughly everything seemed fine but she had a small speck on her foot I thought was dirt, she went swimming and later this afternoon I checked on her again she was laying with her foot tucked up...its hot to the touch and swollen especially where her middle "toe" is. What i thought was a speck of dirt is still there, I tried to see if it would come off and 1 it wouldn't 2 it definitely hurt her. Im thinking the start of bumblefoot but not sure, I'm a new duck mom so still learning. If it is bumblefoot how should I go about treating it?

Also yes I know her legs are a little bowed, she had a severe niacin deficiency, she's better now and walks almost completely normal but the vet said she'll never walk 100% normal but she can walk, swim, and is healthy and happy (other than her current foot situation)

Definitely looks like bumble foot. I have never dealt with it therefore don't know how to treat it, but I think @Isaac 0 could help. Best wishes to you and your duck.
Thank you, I think it is too but wasn't sure how to treat it, google says it depends on the severity, so now I'm really not sure.

It looks like a tiny bumble, but not too far along! I'm sure Isaac O can give you some good advice. My duck's legs haven't usually been hot to the touch except in one case. You can start by soaking her twice a day for maybe 10 minutes in warm water with epsom salts. When the scab is soft you can pull it off and see what's underneath. There are lots of threads on BYC about bumblefoot, so you can see pictures of what other people have done. I remember when I dealt with my first case of bumble I was very scared to do the "surgery" and after soaking and applying triple antibiotic ointment for several days and gearing up for it, I was just able to pull the scab off and everything underneath was healthy. Maybe you will be just as lucky! If your duck seems to be very affected in that she's limping, or not wanting to walk, and her legs are still hot to the touch, you can order some fish antibiotics online - Isaac O has good recommendations on that. I also give my ducks a bit of an extra boost when they've got bumble foot and add some rooster booster to their food and make sure they get plenty of fresh greens.
