I ordered BR, but this one looks different from the rest:

This one has a lot more white around the eyes, and the light areas are more yellowish/cream colored, where all the other chicks are a brighter white.

I looked at pictures of White Faced Spanish Blacks, and this chick looks somewhat like WFSB chicks.

ETA: Chick is probably 4-5 days old. They shipped Monday and arrived Wednesday.

efowl is merely a broker/drop shipper of chicks. OK, hatchery stock can sometimes run a bit "fuzzy" as to presenting very true to breed standards. So, while this one maybe different from the others, give it some time. We'll see how it develops. As long as it is healthy, that's about all one can wish for.

Too soon, really.

At 6 weeks, the difference the cockerels and pullets is obvious. The cockerels feather bright white on a charcoal background, and quickly sprout red combs and little red wattles under their beaks.

The pullets feather in with much smaller white bars, or speckles in the case of most hatchery stock, and their combs and wattles will stay yellow until much later in maturity.

Here's a couple of side by side shots of pairs. Easy to see the difference. One photo is hatchery stock, the other are purebred, heritage fowl.
