Is this chick a pullet?

Hi guys, I just received a barred rock chick from my friend to join my other 3 and I'm having trouble sexing him/her. I got him out of the run to get some pics and here, I noticed that his comb was quite big which made me think that it might be a rooster, and its comb was actually a little crooked. Is someone able to tell me if my chick is a male or a female? Secondly, does his crooked comb mean that something is wrong?
