This is one of my pullets at about 18 to 20 weeks old.

I think you have a pullet but that the age is off.

I hope you are right! It's definitely possible that the age is off. Although even if he/she is closer to 4 or 5 months old, the comb and waddles have been more prominent and pretty bright red for a while now. But everything else looks pretty identical between our two birds. Thanks so much for the reply! :)

Any crowing attempts? Weird noises compared to your other birds?

I was actually surprised my girls took so long to develop a comb. Mine don't even have real big combs now at 8 months.

This was a couple weeks ago.

This link is a pretty darn good example of a male and a female blue Cochin.

Hmmm, well looking at that picture, despite the larger comb and waddles I'd say my cochin looks much more like your pullet than the rooster, my chicken does not have anything resembling the darker hackle feathers...yet. I know it was hatched this past spring, so I doubt he/she is older than 6 months... I have not heard any attempts to crow. He/she is pretty timid and really does not make much noise at all. It is probably the most timid one in our flock of 20.
I will try to post some more pictures soon but its been raining all day so they all look like drowned rats right now!
