I was going to get rid of him as I have tooooo many boys here, but somebody told me I should hang onto him for breeding? I don't know much about whats good and bad in breeding qualities, but they said he had a nice comb? but what do you think? He has some brownish colors in his wings too that I don't think is good. Thanks for your opinions!!!

Oh and also, a rooster from another pen got to him and they fought for a few minutes. The Silky got alot of his head feathers pulled out and this picture was taken 2 weeks afterwards, so his head is alot fluffier.

If you're trying to breed for show quality, then I wouldn't keep him. You're right about the brownish color, that wouldn't be good to pass on to chicks. His comb is too large and bumpy-looking and his foot feathering isn't good. He's a great-looking pet, though!

For all the above mentioned reasons he would not be good for breeding
Silkies. He could be good for pretty fun colored mixes.

He does not look splash--he looks closer to grey with red wings. Not good for breeding for a number of reasons. First, his body type is wrong (also he looks underweight).

Tail feathers are not nearly enough silkied. Foot and leg feathering is way too sparse, wattles are too big (unless his beard also got pulled?). I'll ignore the crest since I can;t judge it accurately. The comb is okay, but the spikes/horns at the top are something to breed away from. Shape is okay--this is a modified rosecomb versus a true walnut comb.
