I brought this chick home a month ago, and thought she just needed "cleaned up." Her eyes are puffy, and the hair sticks to her face around the eyes. She blinks a lot too. No other symptoms, and she eats and acts normal. She has been in with a bantam cochin for the entire time, and cochin is not ill. I"ve been putting antibiotic eye ointment in her eyes, but it has only minimally helped. Someone suggested recently she likely has Coryza and I should just cull her. What do you all think?
She has been in quarantine and has not been around my flock other than her cage-mate.
I really need help to know what is the best thing. Don't want to jeopardize my entire flock, but don't want to cull a bird that is not seriously sick either. She has none of the other Coryza symptoms such as smelly discharge. Just puffy, blinky eyes.
Thanks!

Maybe it is just an eye infection. Coryza definitely is supposed to stink, which seems to be its trademark, and I think it causes respiratory issues, runny nose, etc too. Maybe you can try some Polysporin ointment in each eye to see if it clears up.

Also though, MG can cause eye swelling without the smell. Although I would expect respiratory symptoms with that. Maybe it is just too soon for all the symptoms to show up. If it were me--and I'm no expert--but I wouldn't cull unless there were respiratory symptoms of some sort, but I'd maintain quarantine for at least a month after the eyes clear up.

What are you using in the eyes? Terramycin eye ointment is kept locked up at many pet stores, but it contains oxytetracycline which might help clear it up. Erythromycin also is good if you happen to have any. Vetericyn eye gel may also help. A vet might give you something even better in an eye drop, if you are a regular customer. MG could be possible, but seems doubtful without other symptoms in either bird. Here are 2 good articles about eye disorders:
