Clover is my 17 week-old Cochin (Pekin) Bantam. She's had swelling around the right eye starting at 9 weeks. No other systems, aside from shutting the affected eye when she is bedded down and relaxed. The local chicken vet saw her two weeks ago and was a bit perplexed. Did not suspect a sinus infection, didn't feel anything unusual, and said it might just be the shape of her face. Was prescribed terramycin ointment 2x/day for 1 week.

Here is a photo before the medication:

And here is one after (Clover on the right):

I'm having a hard time seeing any meaningful improvement. Here's a photo of her head on, also post treatment, that shows the difference between left and right eyes. The right eye is somewhat pushed out from her face, which the vet also noticed:

Is there anything else I can do for her? I feel so bad. Of course, I'm paranoid she has something serious like ocular Marek's or an infectious disease that's in my entire flock. No other birds have symptoms.

Thanks for your help.

I see no signs of occular Marek's, and that does not usually have any swelling associated with it, at least I've never seen any.
I wonder if the vet is correct and it's more the way her head is shaped, and maybe genetic. The straight on picture I find interesting. It looks like if you drew a line right down the middle, it's very different on each side, conformation, feather color, even the pigment on the beak. The right wattle also looks a hair larger (on it's own that would be unremarkable, many birds don't have perfectly symmetrical wattles). The rest of her looks the same on both sides. The right eye (her right) also appears to be set back slightly farther on the head. So maybe just how she's built for unknown reasons.
Will be interesting to see what others think. I had one bird that was malpositioned at hatch, had to assist, and it's head grew a little misshapen, but did not affect it's life.

The feather color is definitely from her eye treatment! 😅 I tried my best to keep it localized to the eye, but she's been a greasy little piglet for a week scratching around in the dusty run. You're correct on the eye placement though; it's not quite on the same plane. And it didn't photograph well, but I've also noticed extra keratin (I think?) that extends down from her right nare.

Thank you for reassuring me about the Marek's. Kind of grasping at straws trying to figure out what's wrong.
