I have lovebirds, zebra finches, canaries and a budgie in small indoor aviaries, research about the diet is controversial and I don't know what to do believe anymore
They get good seed mix, green grass seed heads, sprouted seeds, greens, fruits and veg most days and I have a vitamin and mineral supplement I give on dampened seed twice a week.
Vitamin and Mineral Supplement (BVM Powder)
Active constituents per kg :
Vitamin A 180.00 IU Vitamin D3 20,000 IU Vitamin E 2.000 IU Vitamin K 10mg Vitamin B1 36mg Vitamin B2 41mg Vitamin B6 4 mg Vitamin B12 10 mg D- calcium Pantothenate 175mg Nicotinamide 40 mg Cobalt 5mg Copper 7mg Iron 200mg Manganese 440mg Iodine 7.5 mg Selenium 0.36 mg Molybdenum 4mg Zinc 320mg Sodium 10mg Calcium phosphate + Calcium carbonate Calcium gluconate 35% Aniseed Beetroot Powder
Some research says that the seed portion of the diet should be mostly replaced with pellets. I have access to Roudybush pellets but those are the only ones I can afford.
Roudybush Pellets :
Crude Fat (min.) 6.0%
Crude Fiber (max.) 3.5%
Moisture (max.) 12.0%
Ash 3.0%
Calcium 0.42%
Phosphorus 0.41%
Available Phosphorus 0.17%
Sodium 0.15%
Chloride 0.23%
Iron 250 ppm
I am torn on whether I should continue with my current diet or change most of the seed out for pellets. Any input appreciated
