So basically this egg was developing well and at day 10 (today) I started to see this dark ring around the baby. Does that mean this egg has passed away? I really hope I am wrong since I’m already down to 3 eggs left but I am beginning to lose hope that any will hatch 😞 2 were yolkers and another 2 got only till about 5 days in while the last one I cracked was a few days behind and had sunk into the air cell when it passed away

I'm sorry, but that egg has stopped developing.
There's not enough life for day 10, plus the clear blood ring.

I hope the other two hatch.
Do you have candling pics of those?
Oh, and welcome to BYC.

Dammit 😞 here’s the other two

They were shipped eggs. i know usually they aren’t the best but I did get growth in at least half. They came from a local farm in my state

How many did you start with?
Did you let them rest before putting them in the bator?
What humidity and temperature are you incubating at?

Started with 8 had 2 under a broody hen which was the one with the ring and another yolker. The others were incubated at around 38c and honestly unsure about the humidity as my incubator didn’t have a monitor but I topped up the water daily and made sure it steamed up a little. I let them sit a day before I put them in.
