I have no pictures but I can describe it. It's a cayuga duck egg about 25 days old. It has a crack on it because I was an idiot and i dented s it, but the membrane wasn't broken because it never leaked. I spray it with water and hand sanitizer to keep from bacteria entering and tot was moving. But for awhile it looks like a dark black spot near the crack. No veins, the air sack is half the size of the egg, no movement, no blood spots, no smell, it floats to the top in the float test, but the black goo doesn't moe around in the shell and it seems to be getting bigger really slowly. What should I do? Toss it?

Yeah, it looks dead :( And next time when/if you crack an egg, try to seal it with nail polish or candle wax. The hand santizer may have killed the chick because of the chemicals in it.

Is this egg alive. Because it pipped and then stopped moving. The picture Is a picture of its nose sticking out.

It's the wrong end of the egg actually it went down the pointer part. Help it hasn't been moving for a least a hour

IF that egg is alive it's a miracle, because you've seemingly done everything in your power to kill it. sadly. :/ Hand sanitizer, aside from being toxic, kills off the egg's natural protective bacteria. Having cracks all over it from being dropped means that harmful bacteria can get in, as well as dry the membrane out, resulting in the embryo being shrink-wrapped. Third, is that last photo after the chick pipped, or did you put the hole in the egg yourself?

I know what I said is harsh, for that I apologize, I just wish you'd done a little research before taking action. :/
