Is this egg fertile? 4 days in....

Yes.


At day 4, if there's a small area of black at the top, just as show, it is fertile. Only the highest powered or lightest colored eggs will show veining. Otherwise, you'll see exactly as shown.


Infertile eggs at day 4 look like any average day 0 candled egg - A dark spot that is only in one area and moves.

i candled mine at day 4 and saw the same thing you posted here. i really thought i would see something by then but i'm going to give it a few more days. good luck with yours

I can usually tell by day 5 but when in doubt don't throw them out. Sometimes you just can't see what's going on in there. I made that mistake once. If I can't tell I just keep the egg in there.
