Looks "normal", is it a first egg? When Pullets first start laying the eggs are smaller but get larger as time goes on, so would think the coloring would vary until the Pullet is older/Hen. BYC members correct me if I'm misinformed...
No she is regular layer, almost daily. Not exactly sure how old because we purchased her as a 1 year old from a friend of a friend so you never know. Sometimes that extra layer is barely noticeable and sometimes it's super thick.
We've got one that does this too- a Buff Orp. So far she lays mostly small eggs (1.6oz) that are nearly round- with giant eggs here and there, and I mean 2.6oz eggs. They all come out looking like yours with the 'not so clear coat' effect. No clue about the reason but they're normal inside.
It's just a an excessively thick layer of the bloom, no worries...![]()
Ours are normal inside too! Hmmm... interesting.![]()

That's good to know....One of my pullets first egg popped out of her on to the ground/dirt in front of me...She turned around, looked at it then looked at me....I picked it up, was wet which I assumed was the bloom which I knew nothing about prior to BYCShe since lays in the next box. But the look on her face...
