Is this egg normal?

Does this normally happen first time I’ve seen one this small?

Wow that's a small Egg! What breeds do you have? Are your hens stressed? Or are they acting strange?
If one is acting wierd she may have some kind of disease and if not maybe it was a one time thing.

Yes, it's called a fairy egg or a fart egg. Usually it won't have much yolk in it, but it's normal and nothing to worry about, in my experience.

When pullets first begin laying they often lay eggs like that.

Fairy, fart, rooster eggs are usually from a tiny piece of tissue breaking loose from the reproductive tract, or an immature ova(yolk) and the body forms an egg around it. Color can be darker than 'normal' as the pigment coating released has to cover a much smaller area so is thicker. Can happen with any age layer.
