is this egg okay to eat?

One of my chickens only lays eggs that look like this. They are rough at the top and when I crack it, sometimes the yolk will get stuck at the top and not come out. Once it came out and I cooked it, but it tasted weird so we didn't eat it. Should I eat or throw away?

I’ve seen eggs come in different shapes, shades, and textures and have never had a problem with eating them (as long as they are still fresh, of course) but I’m not sure why the yolk would be getting stuck to the top? I wouldn’t let color/texture of the shell alone deter me from eating, though. Hopefully some others can provide insight!

How did it taste weird?
Was it psychosomatic maybe?

Have had egg shells like that, insides were normal tho.
Did the yolk break when it came out?

Do you know which bird is laying them?
How old is bird?
Did it just start or always?

I didnt get a picture of the inside, but the yolk was broken once I finally got it out. I do know which bird and she is about 2 years old. Hers have always been this way, but never with the yolk sticking. She was given to me last summer and never really laid consistently for me.

Looks like a calcium deposit and would be fine to eat.

I didnt get a picture of the inside, but the yolk was broken once I finally got it out. I do know which bird and she is about 2 years old. Hers have always been this way, but never with the yolk sticking. She was given to me last summer and never really laid consistently for me.

Just a glitchy girl, I guess.

I have a glitchy red sex link hen who lays eggs like that every day. Sometimes the shells are super thin, but the eggs have always been tasty.
