I may be overthinking this question and scaring myself - I’ve looked through at least 15 posts on here and various website pages on Faverolles to help me but I never found a picture of a Faverolle chick looking quite like mine being mainly black/grey and white with some brownish bits at the end of the wings. I think it is just a badly colored hatchery Salmon Faverolle pullet throwing some black - I realize it may be too early to confirm gender since she is around 3 weeks old and she is not fully feathered. She has five toes and furry feet but no noticeable puffy cheeks/beard yet. Bought from local farm store (pretty sure they did not order straight run from the hatchery).

No, it doesn’t look like a salmon favorelle, must have gotten mixed up with some other chicks.

That’s what I’ve been thinking because the non puffy cheeks and the coloring is off. I was expecting more brown.

Or it could possibly be a cockerel since I’m seeing some black come into the legs now but I don’t know. It seems like some feathers are black fading to white and some are half black/half white. This chick also seems to be feathering fast / comb not very large or pinkish/red yet so I’m not positive it’s a cockerel based on comb size alone. My Penedesenca rooster had a very pronounced biggish red comb at around 3 or 4 weeks of age. My Silkie roo on the other hand took a while to grow his comb.

I can say that this chick is very feisty and pecks me a lot in an aggressive manner whenever I’m trying to handle it / put my hand near it to somewhat socialize it and get it used to humans being around.
