Is this feed good to make fat?

If you're raising meat birds then that feed would be fine. But for layers you wnt to feed layer feed for best results...best of luck!
 
Well I don't really know what type of coop setup you have, can you post a pic of the inside? Irregardless, chickens do like to "roost" at night. Here's a pic for reference:



Or you can use tree limbs like this:



If you use 2 x 4's make sure they are laying "flat" .. chickens need that extra footing so they can rest easily and keep their feet warm in the winter months.

How old are your birds? Higher protein (grower feed) is important as they're growing, but then you would switch to finisher feed when they're a couple of weeks away from slaughter weight to increase fat. Finisher feed has higher levels of carbohydrates.
