Hi,
Went to the feed store to buy turkey starter they gave me Purina Growth & Plumage Game Bird Chow. The pink tab was torn off the only bag they had, they think it is 28% protein .
Hope this feed is OK, or should I take it back and get another bag of Nutrena meatbird starter from my regular feed store, I know that is 28% protein?

usually at 6 weeks you can switch to a grower feed, we feed chick starter for the first 2 months for chicks, Turkeys do need extra protien, but sometimes too much will make them grow too fast and be rough on their legs, holding up weight when they grow too fast. there are lots of turkey people here with a lot of knowledge!

We feed ours 28% game bird starter for the first 3 months then go to a 20% grower for another 3 months. At 6 months they go out to the flocks and get a 20% layer feed. The only difference between the grower and layer is the oyster shell in the feed.
