Okay, this egg is from my black silkie hen and rooster. I'd like to know if my little egg is fertile. The egg was layed today.

You can't determine if an egg has been fertilized by candling it prior to it having been incubated for at least 3 days *or* by cracking the unincubated egg open and examining the germinal disc, however that would then render that particular egg non useful for incubation if that is your goal. Either method is useful for determining likely fertilized status of the eggs you are receiving from your flock moving forward.

Thank you!
