Hi! As in the picture, I found this on the bottom of one of my drakes feet but I'm having a hard time figuring out what is wrong, whether it's frostbite or bumblefoot. I found that other ducks in the flock also developed these pale pressure point marks on their feet so I assumed it was normal and this guy's skin just cracked due to the cold (We got down to -40*C a few days ago). I've been spraying it with a skin wound spray and trying to give a feet bath (he has an attitude) and it doesn't seem to affect him too much, only seen him hold up his feet more than the rest of the flock.

I'm hoping someone may be able to clarify what it could be or some sort of treatment I should do?

(The red spots in the photo are reflected off of a red watering bowl beside him)

It appears to be the early development of pododermatitis (bumblefoot); in the picture, you can appreciate the ulcerative lesions, which will allow bacteria to penetrate into the tissue, and encourage development. At the stage it is now, soaking her foot in an antiseptic bath mixture such as chlorhexidine every day, for a few days may suffice.

The underlying causes of bumblefoot in ducks are often associated with prolonged, excessive pressure on rough grounds promoting callusing, and ulceration to the epidermal layer of skin. Ensuring the environmental substrate the bird is being housed on, is soft, and dry, can help prevent the problem from occurring, and help promote healing with your current problem.
