Is this 'hen' a rooster?

The comb is too big for a pullet at this age. Also, the male coloring and what I mean by this is that he has very splotchy, uneven patterning. Female EEs have a more even patterning.

This would be why they are males. Male hackles, male saddles, and large early-developing comb.

We bought 15 baby chicks....Easter Eggers and Orpingtons. They are now 8 weeks old. This one looks a bit different from the rest...we are wondering if it is in fact going to turn out to be a rooster! We were buying hens but also know that there is no guarantee. I have looked up pictures but am just not sure.

Going to have to rename them! In the group of 15 we have two lavender/grey orpington. My son named them Earl, Merle and the 13 Mary's! Guess we are going to have to do some name shifting!
