How old is the bird? Could you get us a few pictures of its side without wires in the way? It's hard to tell with the image above especially without an age.

4 months? 16 weeks.... That's probably a cockerel. The pics are still a bit blurry, but I don't think my BJG got red until she was in her 20 weeks... like around 25 weeks. Although I don't see anything that looks like male saddle feathers. If you want to be sure, get a good, clear pic, in natural light of its saddle feathers. This is what your looking for...
also, don't worry about the spur bumps. Its not an accurate way to determine sex, as pullets and hens have spur bumps and can even grow spurs. I have a hen who is growing spurs on one leg.

How sure are you on the age? I would have guessed 8-12 week old cockerel based on development. If it's really 16 weeks I'm not sure, you may have to just wait and see.
