Is this just me?

Oh, I LOVE the scent of chicken feathers (on a live, healthy chicken). I sniff my chickens pretty regularly when I pick 'em up. It's been a while since I've hatched chicks, and I don't recall sniffing them, but I will with the next batch I hatch.

Sorry Birdies, you have never went to a feed store, and held the chicks. Lol and Smelled them.

I have, but TSC has new rules, and you're not allowed to

I bet if you asked them if you could, they'd let you. The barricades are in place to prevent unsupervised children from mishandling them.

We just got 23 baby chickens from the incubator, and there is a certain smell from the hatched egg and stuff that's like following me the whole day

I have to say I like smell my chickens and there is a big difference between the new one coming from other people's breeding and the other born from my hens.
I also have a chinchilla, I love smell his fluffy fur

I still remember the musty sweet smell of baby chicks from when I was a little girl. We had 'school chicks'. I also remember the feel of their little claws, so amazing.
