I have three Light Brahmas. All were hatched on March 19th this year, so they are just over 16 weeks old. I have one that is definitely a pullet, and one that is definitely a cockerel, but the third one is so iffy. Its comb and wattles are very red and nearly as big as the cockerel's, but its tail feathers are a little differently shaped from his and it is the same size as the pullet, whereas the cockerel is a good 2-3 inches taller than them. Here's some pics. I hope I don't have 2 roos...
Here's the pullet

The ???

I read on here somewhere that the males tend to have a little more black smut on their backs than the females. Ol' Rooster has more than the other two. He also has a little deeper voice than the others, though none of them are crowing yet. I'm pretty confused about this one, I knew Brahmas were slow maturing, but can a 16 week old pullet get a face that red?

Yep, the ??? is a roo. If you look at the ends of his hackle (neck) feathers and at the feathers coming in over his back right in front of the tail (saddle feathers - you might have to part his juvenile feathers to see them) they will have pointed ends. The black coloration on the back really depends on where the birds come from. Hatcheries will vary widely in the amount of black any of their light Brahmas have (hen or roo) whereas birds from a breeder will have the black only in the tail, hackles, and wings.

Well darn. I started off with 8 and after predation and a bout of sickness looks like I'm down to a duo. The big boy knows his business a little better than the other one, I will keep him and maybe trade the other for a Welsummer roo. The big one is always the last in the coop, and makes rounds to look for stragglers before getting in himself. Plus he already leads the ladies to food and shelter. Funny how they are the same age, but are very different in size. I got them from Cackle hatchery. Thanks all for your help, and if anyone else wants to take a whack at it be my guest.
