Bantam Duck Egg (6 days in I think)
Thanks in advance for your opinion. I almost pulled him because of that ring. I fear it may be a blood ring - but it is dark, not red.

leave it in. within 2 or 3 days you'll see clear movement if its viable.

That's not viable. That black ring around the egg is a blood ring, all the blood from the decomposing veins. The few veins that have not decomposed yet aren't attached to the embryo, another sign the embryo is dead. Sorry about your egg

I would too. There was one in my current clutch which looked empty on candling on day 4. I left it. Lo and behold on day 8 there is a wriggling baby.

It isn't at risk of exploding yet if it is bad, so leaving it a while longer will do no harm.
