Is this meant to be in my grit?

Was giving my girls some grit and this came out of the packet.....Does this mean that the ‘oyster shell’ grit is not actually oyster shell? Should I continue to use it?

That happens with my crumble feed. I find a few pellets in some bags. GC

There are many types of muscle shells and that is one of them. I imagine it's like canned pumpkin. It will always just say pureed pumpkin but often is made of various squash varieties you wouldn't automatically think of as being "pumpkins". All in the same family though.

Sea shells are all the same thing, ground up they are calcium.

You can get freshwater mussel shells and grind it up to use. Has the same effect.

Yeah, that's interesting. Check the ingredient list to see if they list other ingredients.
If not email a photo to the company of what you found.
My bag of Oyster Shells list 2 ingredients.

This is a tiny scallop shell. Same material. They probably use all sorts of shells but advertise it as oyster shell because that's what people know.
