Is this meant to be in my grit?

No industrial process is perfect (see: amount of insect material allowed in human food by law). Especially one designed to produce 50 lb bags of rocks for a $20 price point.

This tiny shell probably slipped in with the truckload of oyster shell and was too small to get crushed by the machinery.

Ah soluble grit. Someone needs to teach those tea drinkers proper English.:D

Here in the U.S. grit is small stones/sand. Oyster shell is for laying hens for calcuim.

The shells are labeled calcium grit by some U.S makers too, a few mix the granite grit and shells, calcium carbonite etc together and call it poultry grit.
I shopped for grit last night and hated every minute spent.
Little rocks, chicken dentures those plain old cheap things are now flavored with anise and other such malarkey.
Best advice, skip label read ingredients treat headache from thoughts of who is buying flavored rocks.:th
