Our Jolly chicken is currently the only chicken we own (we want to get more chickens, but are currently under quarantine for Newcastle Virus). She is a Rhode Island Red. She is a rescue, so we are not sure of her age. Behavior wise, she seems to be normal. Eating well, drinking, laying eggs regularly. Poop looks normal. In recent days, she's developed a bit of a cough, but I don't think that's necessarily related (we are currently treating the cough with ACV water and kale garlic oatmeal).
The main thing I am concerned about is that she is losing feathers where her neck meets her shoulders (see photo. I couldn't get a great photo, but can post another later, once I have help holding her down, haha). It has looked like this for about two months. Is this is sign of molting or something more serious?
