Is this moulting?

    I have pullets, i think they're around 13 weeks, somewhere in there. Anyway i moved them a couple of weeks ago to their chicken coop and they started to lose feathers. I go in there and there is long feathers and the down ones too. I thought it was just stress from being moved but it's continued. They don't have any problems like pecking or anything to prove their stressed so i thought they might be going through a moult. How long does moulting last?

    Hi there,

    None of my birds have molted yet. The oldest are over a year and the youngest are about 6 weeks. I've got some "tweens" that are about 3 months old. I forgot how many feathers they shed during the growing cycle. I'm finding lots of feathers from my tweens right now. It's not a molt, just shedding of feathers.

    Someone on BYC told me that when they molt, you'll know it. "It'll look like a feather bomb went off," they said.
