This may be the silliest question ever but newbie chicken mom here and we have this 9 week old lavender Wyandotte cockerel. I have noticed recently that he has started squatting/sitting with the pullets he’s with.
Is this normal? He’s the only roo we currently have in our flock so could that be why? Or is this just what some cockerels do?
We’ve only had experience with one other cockerel, and he acted completely different VERY early on and would never sit with our girls other than to dust bathe quickly or to perch right at dusk to make sure everyone went inside the coop.
