Hello
I first want to wish everyone a very blissful Christmas and a wonderful New Year’s

Just needed some help regarding about one of my chickens, last week I noticed her right side had swollen, it has gotten much bigger therefore I’m concerned, I’m not new to farming, but I’m new to owning my backyard chickens, I’ve looked after them since they were born couple of days old, researching about them has helped me raised them to this point, I’ve build a chicken coop fixed lighting and keeping them in my garage until the weather in Canada gets better so I can let them outside, please help me describe what this thing is, is it normal for hens to develop this, by the way my chicken is a black miniature Easter Egger

Due to her coloring it's hard to make out. I'm assuming you mean that "white" lump looking thing? Looks to be on her lower ear. Is it a lump or the whole side of her face swollen? If it's a lump, looks to be the size of a pea? Is it soft or firm? Is she scratching? Possible bug bite?

Hang in there, more will respond ... Being a couple days before Christmas, think alot are doing last minute shopping and traveling to their destinations. Merry Christmas to you & wishing you/yours a Happy New Year also.

Are you talking about the right side oher neck and back being swollen? Do you feel any air under the skin? Is it soft or firm? Chickens have air sacs all over their bodies, and they may get injured and an air sac can leak under the skin, making it feel poofy.
