Is this normal??? **pics**

Oh.... I forgot to say it's good in the water too for colds, ect..... So, It wont hurt if she dips. You might have to apply some more often, like whenever your near her.

I guess I'll have to give that a try since there aren't any other suggestions. I was hoping someone would say...nope, normal part of ducky growing up!

Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for your help.
The others don't seem to have it and they do have plenty of room and access to clean water. I haven't seen any signs of parasites (scratching, etc) and they seem healthy. I suppose it's possible it could be some sort of parasite as I did pick them up from filthy crowded condition at the feed store. I won't rule it out anyway.
I really appreciate your help and the links you shared, however since I am such a newbie at this (and I prefer organic solutions anyway) I think I might try the treatments recommended in Holderreads book...
For external parasites: olive oil and organic ACV.
For internal parasites: diatomaceous earth.
If there continues to be problem then I will come back and take the next step with the suggested medications to knock out whatever could be causing this. Thanks again...

In all honesty I have seen this very few times with ducklings (born this way) and it fills in when they feather out. I hope thats all it is.

To me it looks like that or maybe lost the down through fighting or some thing else. Is it on both sides of the eyes?

That's what I was hoping to hear! LOL Like I said, this is only my 2nd time with ducklings (4 at a time) so it's a 1 in 8 occurrence. I don't think it would be bad to give them a little ACV or sprinkle some DE in the hay so I'll start with that anyway and just hope it's one of those things unless it looks like it's worsening.

Thank you all, I love having this resource of wonderfully helpful ppl!!!

Just wanted to update:
I didn't do anything to the skin, just watched it...I guess it was just a pattern-baldness on duckies.

Feathers are growing in nicely, and it actually looks nicer than the others that have a bit of down on them still. Guess it's just one of those things...
