Is this normal?

Their oil comes out of a nub thats way down their back and just above their tail

They rub their heads on it to pick the oil up then spread it over their feathers for water repellent, You wont see the oil but theyr being coated in it

Just to clarify- as ducklings, their uropygial gland is not yet fully developed. Thus, no oil is produced. In the wild, the mother duck will pass oil from her own gland to the duckling's body, making them waterproof.

To the OP, it appears your ducklings are perfectly healthy. :)
