Is this normal?

Hi folks. I've got mt first batch of ducklings and loving every second of it. A few of the babies have a hard dried substance near their vent. I'm basically just wondering if it's poop, and something that needs to be cleaned off, or if it's just normal duckling...stuff. Thanks for any help.

It’s where they were attached to the yolk sac just leave it alone the scab will fall off on its on. The vent is further down. Look how precious !

To the best of my knowledge.
They are eating and drinking fine, and there is plenty of little poops.

It does look more like a scab than poop, and the couple that have a small clump, are all located ~1/2" above the vent.

Yep just what’s left of the umbilicus. They sure are precious little ones!

It's the umbilicus, and as long as it is dry and not weeping all is 'normal'. Enjoy them.
