A good quality all-flock type feed with oystershell on the side for layers.

Access to a run with green stuff available to forage.

Treats given sparingly -- the usual figure is 10% of the diet (for an animal that eats about 1/4lb per day that's a tablespoon or two), and primarily for training purposes.

My flock's favorite treat is a pile of garden weeds.
