Is this normal?

Today I bought a RIR chick and unknown chick of a layer breed, but I got them home dipped their beaks in the water and set them down they automatically sat down and have been sleeping off and on for an hour and half is this normal for their fist day?

They are probably tired from a long day.

How old are they? If they are only a day or so old, then yes, it's normal.

I don't know exact age but I think they are between a week-week and a half. What a relief thanks I was worrying myself sick

You could also try some sugar water and see if it perks them up a bit. I wouldn't force feed them though.

The unknown layer chick is moving about and eating the RIR chick is still just laying down but if I walk by the brooder she raises her head and looks at me.
