Is This Normal?

prariechiken- Ok now i am not quite sure if it is a girl now. lol I'm just going to call it a she for now. She hasn't grown a comb yet so it is hard to tell at the moment, but if i go by what this man told me then i would say she is a girl. But then i suppose evry chicken changes and shows things differently.
FalcoSparverius- They are quite interesting. They are game birds but no way am i using this one for fighting... I would never use anything for fighting.
NotTheMomma- Yes they are big birds lol. And i think they look like vultures or eagles lol. I think they are the most loveable breed of chicken that i have ever come across. They prefer to be with us humans than their own kind. (well... the one's i have met anyway)

I will post better pictures soon of her face and put it in the gender forum to see what others think.

(i might do that now lol)

I think the face color appears at around 8 weeks. There are many books and writings on all the Shamo breeds. My friend, Julia Keeling, located on The Isle of Mann, has a worldwide reputation as "The Shamo Lady". She has birds imported by her, directly from the top breeders in Japan. She has an interresting perspective on growing Shamo,"They`re all big puddings, until they reach maturity". After that, you should be aware that they will dominate your flock and yes, they are extremely easy to handle and love human contact. It`s other chickens they don`t play well with. Have fun with yours. Still think it`s a stag......Pop
