Is this normal?

Just got this girl yesterday as a BFF (sometimes you have to buy your friends I suppose) for our turkey, Petunia. Petunia originally started as Thanksgiving dinner but quickly won my heart; I'll make a bad farmer; more like an animal rescue center. Anyway, I have renamed them 'Pete' and 'Repeat'. Last night I found Repeat (new girl) up roosting with my layers. I was quite surprised. Pete sleeps on the floor of the coop, which is 50' long and 25' wide.....quite large enough for everyone. Wondering if this is normal? These are my 1st turkeys.

Wow! 4 of your 7 post is all exactly the same question in 4 different threads! Must not have liked the replies , so you keep starting new threads.

As ALL the others stated, yes it is normal! Some turkeys will roost up high alone, or with other chickens/turkeys, or down low. And yes even on the floor, or ground. They may prefer roosting inside, or outside, alone, or in a group.

hdmax, check the 1st. post times on the threads (some simultaneous - `glitch in the matrix'). This happens to nearly everyone, on occasion. Being a new member and not knowing to report the duplicate threads by using the red report button at the bottom of the posts to let the Mods know to remove the duplicates? No shame in that (if I'd have been on I'd have reported them - hate it when I post once and immediately see 5 duplicates - it happens).

Ha! There are so many posts because this site kept telling me 'failed, try again' So of course I hit 'post' again and again.....apparently 7x. :)

All the answers have been great. I thought it was funny that she was up there with the chickens who she had just met.

Good to know and best for a Happy Thanksgiving.
