what the heck is this? My three day old chick kept scratching at her neck non stop and I looked at it and found this? What is this?! Should I be worried? I saved this baby from the brink of death the other day it got too cold when mama left it alone in the nest. But what is This?!?!

There is absolutely no way it split its skin open. And it's not split. There is fuzz growing on the bald spot. It's bald cause the chick scratches at it

It looks like the crop in the upper right chest, where the food and water are stored. Chickens also have many air sacs all over the entire body which can leak under the skin when injured. A baby chick's crop is usually full and very prominent since they eat constantly.
