This past weekend we moved our brooder outside into the coop. We cut a small door out for them to go in and out of the brooder, and have kept the heat lamp over the brooder. We have 4 5 week olds and 6 3 week olds. The temps have been low 30's at night and up to mid 70's during the day. They've now been outside with this arraigngment for 3 night and 4 days and seem fine. It's just the momma in me that is second guessing myself.[IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

They should be fine in this setup.

They'll be fine. I've had my chicks in an outside hutch since they arrived at the end of January. We've had temps that have ranged from -9 to 60F during that time. The weather has been crazy. We've got 5" of snow on the ground right now, and they're happy as can be in their brooder, completely oblivious to what's going on outside of it :)
