My 9-10 week old bantam chicks are starting to fight in their solid bottom cage. I haven't been able to get the chain link panels for my new coop yet and don't want to take chances putting them with the layers. Can I separate them into 18x24 individual wire rabbit stacker
cages for now? Shouldn't be for longer than a month. The cage looks similar to this

They still may fight in there, very small space - which is probably why they're fighting now, not enough space...and then you'll also be 're-integrating' them once the new coop is built. I don't think that separate cages is the answer to your problem.

Is your existing hen coop big enough to partition off a space for the youngers?....that would also give you a head start on integrating them with the hens, split the coop with wire mesh so they can but not touch.
