I recently acquired a rooster. The intention is to hatch olive/easter egger. I just want to confirm that this is an Araucana, perhaps Isobel? Or is this a cross with something else. Seller was not sure.

Thank you

It is an Easter egger. Araucana is just a different name for an EE. So you it technically is an araucana but I really don’t like that name as it seems it’s intent is to just trick people into thinking it isn’t a mix. It is also a name for a rare breed (which he doesn’t look to be) which just adds to the confusion

Edit: ignore what I have said. I am officially insane.

Araucana's are a pure breed. Easter Eggers are a general name for mixes and pure breeds that lay blue or green eggs.

Looks like a isabel ameraucana.

Could also be an EE with a very similar feather pattern.

Yes, but it is also a marketing name used by a couple hatcheries that are the same thing as an EE.
Which hatcheries? I've seen AmerIcanas used as a marketing name and occasionally I'll see some people accidently selling birds as "Araucanas", but I don't think I've seen any major hatcheries selling "Araucanas". The lethal gene makes them very hard to breed and not really worth the time and effort unless you are a smaller hatchery or breeder trying to work with the breed.

I honestly don’t know. I just remember looking through a whole bunch of hatcheries and a couple of them saying that. Or I am going insane due to being sick. Hard to tell at this point
Ok at this point I am pretty sure it might have just been tractor supply writing it down wrong.

My bad 😅
