Is this safe for my chickens??

My mom picked up some diatomaceous from TS for me and she came back with a different one that I had purchased last time. I opened it thinking that it was just a bigger bag so it looked different.. or so I was hoping anyway but this one is white and it was brown the last time I got it. I didn’t put it in my coop yet cause I wanted to make sure it was going to be safe first. It kind of smells chemically so that was a red flag for me… is this one safe for my girls or not? These ants are something serious

If it's white you have the pesticide version of DE. Don't use it near chickens. It's meant for spreading around your property to kill insects and the chemical lingers for a long while.
