Hi Everyone,
I have 5 sex-link chickens that I have had for a little over three weeks. I have been keeping the coop clean and just changed the shaving. We put DE (Food grade) down the day we got the chickens and I DE's where they took their first dust bath. I noticed one of my chickens had what looks like bruises and of course as a newbie to all this I panicked and went online to see what scaly mites look like. The scales on my chicken are not sticking up at all. She is very active and just started laying this past Monday. Is this scaly mites... something else.... should I worry? My husband and I just changed the shaving yesterday and DE'd again. I put vaseline on her scales today as well. Thanks for any help you can offer me!!! The second picture she has the vaseline on.
