This is the only one of my 3 silkies that I have not witnessed crowing, and this seems to be hen-like behavior. It''s been doing this all day in various corners of the coop, but we haven't found any egg yet.

I'm really hoping this one is a girl - the other 2 are boys and are already getting obnoxious and full of 'tude. I so wanted to have at least one silkie hen to keep.

I'm sorry, my computer doesn't play videos well. However, the glimpse I saw appeared to be a rooster. Could you post a picture?

Here are a few. One from today where he/she was sitting and clucking in the coop and a more clear one from a few days ago.

He's a rooster (unless he's a mix breed).
Sometimes, silkie roosters try to start nests and call hens to them. I've seen my roosters sit on the ground, scrape out a nest, and call hens to come and lay in them, which makes them look like they are trying to lay an egg themselves. It can be confusing.

Wah - I wanted at least one hen. I got them at Tractor Supply where they were labeled as silkie bantams, but they are pretty much the same size, if not bigger, than all the rest of my chickens, including my year-old Plymouth rock hens! I've also noticed that mine don't have the full head fluff that I've seen in photos of others - maybe that comes more at a later age (they are 18 weeks) or maybe they are indeed crossed with something.

Some silkie bantams don't have the full beard. Here are some of my silkies:

Mavis, she died before she completely matured, but I assume she was a hen

Princess, a hen
