I found this stuff in the run today. It has been raining here a lot lately and the runs have been flooded from the rain so the chickens have not been in their run for a few days now so what I think it is is that when the run dried up today finally it got really dry and then those cracks just started coming in from how dry it got. Remember the chickens have not been scratching in the run at all. At night they have just been jumping in throught the back door of the coop. What do you think?

We just finished with some really good rain storms in my area. Everything was a mud pit and now everything is drying out. My run looks similar to yours. It doesn't seem to bother the girls. They are actually getting their toe nails inbetween the cracks and breaking up the dirt to get at the worms.
